Mother of a Scottish boy, Champion of Scottish culture.
I moved to Edinburgh in 2008 with my then boyfriend, who is now my husband and love of my life. We were living in Manchester and were getting itchy feet…so we decided to move away to another city. There was no real thought behind it, but after a reccie we knew that Edinburgh had captured our hearts.
Little did I realise that my first job would be to champion Scottish culture, at home and abroad, but I loved it. The easiest, most rewarding part of my role was to show people what was possible – and in Scotland, everything is.
Our son was born in Edinburgh, a fact that delights both me and his Dad as we come from small towns in the North of England. My boy’s city is an incredible start for any child, and the adventures we’ve had so far are unique to our capital. Walks along Cramond prom, taking in the fringe performers on the Royal Mile, trekking up the crags…thank you Edinburgh.
This is a new section of my website, a wee record of some of the loveliness to be had on the cobbled streets of Auld Reekie…
